It is the mission of GMC to provide quality healthcare through prevention, education and treatment, both in the hospital and community, including services and special programs for persons with behavioral medical conditions.

Girard Medical Center offers a variety of behavioral services.

We offer these services in a manner that is client centered, culturally sensitive, and responsive to client and community needs.

Goldman Methadone Maintenance Clinic-The Goldman clinic located on 1st floor of the Tower building provides outpatient and intensive outpatient therapy to 752 medication assisted consumers on a daily basis. Consumers enrolled in the program are required to attend individual therapy on a regular basis and receive methadone as part of the overall recovery plan. Consumers are seen as few as 2 hours per month individually and as often as 9 hours per week in individual and group formats.

Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient-Drug Free-Located on 3rd floor of the Tower building. CAP/IOP provides outpatient and intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment to persons in recovery who attend weekly individual and group therapy sessions as a part of their total recovery plan. Upon coming onto the unit, you will sense that this is not your typical treatment program. CAP/IOP is staffed with individuals who are passionate and committed to helping individuals in their recovery journey. CAP/IOP is intentional about creating and nurturing a supportive and empathetic environment. CAP/IOP is staffed with a Certified Recovery Specialist who focuses on providing support and resources in order to help individuals get reintegrated in society and obtain a sense of normalcy including resources for housing, education, and employment. Individuals have access to the computer lab in order to complete job search and applications. The recreation room provides an opportunity for individuals to socialize and begin to develop relationships with other individuals in the recovery community. The alumni association provides an opportunity for graduates to remain engaged and continue to pay it forward. Specialized services are provided to Spanish speaking persons in recovery.

Outpatient Psychiatric Services- The Outpatient Psychiatric clinic provides medication management, individual and group psychotherapy, psychological assessment to consumers with mental health diagnoses. Serving approximately 300 consumers per month, the unit is staffed by a psychiatrist, licensed psychologists and social workers, interns and practicum students.
